Islamabad, Feb 4 (IANS) Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that conspiracies are being hatched to delay the country’s senate elections.

He was speaking to reporters Friday before inaugurating the Business Express, the country’s first luxury business train between Lahore and Karachi cities.
He said the possibility of early general elections could be discussed after the presentation of the fifth budget, the daily Dawn reported Saturday.
“Six months ago, I pointed out that conspiracies were being hatched to delay senate elections. Be patient and wait for some days, all these conspiracies will be exposed,” Gilani said.
“Senate elections will be held according to schedule. Any person or party interested in snap polls should talk to me after presentation of the budget,” he said.
The Senate election is slated in March while the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has notified the by-elections Feb 25, The Nation reported.
