Barcelona, May 30 (IANS/EFE) Police in the northeastern Spanish city of Barcelona will fine people who go out in public naked or semi-nude.
The fines range from 120 to 500 euros ($170 to $700) and will be imposed on people who refuse to adhere to the generally acceptable minimum public dressing standards.
Sources told EFE that a modified ordinance entered into force Sunday after a period of 15 days, during which time public announcements have been made and other methods employed to disseminate the news among the population of Barcelona.
With that in mind, the Barcelona City Hall published 15,000 brochures containing information about the ordinance governing nudity and distributed it.
