Mexico City, Sep 25 (Xinhua) An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale rocked the western parts of Mexico Thursday, officials said.
There was no immediate report of injury or damage.
The earthquake occurred at 2.16 a.m. (0716 GMT), with its epicentre at about 275 km southwest of Puerto Vallarta in Jalisco state, at a depth of 21 km.
The Civil Protection and Fire Department of Jalisco said it was closely monitoring the vulnerable coastal regions of the state after the tremor.
