London, Feb 29 (IANS) Argentine striker Carlos Tevez played his first match for Manchester City after the fall-out with Italian manager Roberto Mancini. Tevez lasted 45 minutes in the behind-closed doors reserves clash against Preston North End at City’s Carrington training complex Tuesday.

Tevez refused to take the field in City’s Champions League clash against German club Bayern Munich in October 2011. He was fined 500,000 pounds and suspended for two weeks by the club.
The Argentinian spent three-and-a-half months on unauthorised leave in Argentina, and speculation was rife that he would move to Italian giants AC Milan but City rejected Milan’s offer
Tevez was thought to be on course for a return to the squad against Swansea Saturday. However, coach David Platt said the Argentine has still not returned to match fitness.
