Bangkok, Dec 24 (IANS) A fire at a Toyota factory near Bangkok Sunday night caused an estimated 50 million baht (about $1.7 million) damage, but will not affect production, the company said Monday.
Hirunruangrong, senior president of Toyota Motor Thailand, told the Bangkok Post that the explosion and ensuing blaze burnt down a factory warehouse for storing engine oil, a pallet used for oil transportation and 10 forklifts, reported Xinhua.
Earlier reports put the loss at 100 million baht (about $3.4 million).
He added that the incident does not affect production at the factory or its transportation of car parts to retailers. The factory remains in operation.
