Los Angeles, June 1 (IANS) After evil queen in “Snow White and the Huntsman”, Charlize Theron returns in a grey role again with “Prometheus” and says she enjoys playing such characters as they seem “real” to her. The film, directed by Ridley Scott, releases in India June 8.
In “Prometheus”, she plays Meredith Vickers, a powerful woman who has another agenda for the mission that her team is set to embark upon.
Explaining why she enjoys playing female characters with a darker side, Theron said: They feel real to me. I think women are just as conflicted as men. I don’t think we are as one dimensional, as two dimensional as cinema sometimes wants to make us.”
“Prometheus” marks Scott’s return to the action genre after classics such as “Alien”, “Blade Runner” and “Gladiator”. The film had its blue carpet premiere in London Thursday.
“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” actress Noomi Rapace too features in the film and said that she found certain scenes hard to handle in the movie.
“It really messed me up, I got the worst, crazy, disturbed dreams for a week or something so it really felt like I had stepped into some kind of nightmarish hell,” she said.
