Beijing, Nov 28 (Inditop.com) Three people were killed and four injured Saturday when a cargo aircraft caught fire after veering off the runway in Shanghai airport, officials said.
The incident took place at 8.12 a.m., when the plane veered off the runway before it took off, Xinhua news agency quoted officials as saying.
The seven crew members were rushed to the People’s Hospital of Pudong New Area, where three of them died and one is in a serious condition.
Two of the seven crew members were from the US and Indonesia, health officials said.
The plane, SMJ 324, was registered at Zimbabwe. It was scheduled to fly from Shanghai to
Bishkek, capital of Kyrgyzstan.
