New York, June 5 (IANS/WAM) The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Republic of Marshall Islands have established diplomatic relations at ambassador level.

UAE’s ambassador to the UN, Ahmed Al-Jarman, and the UN Permanent Representative of Marshall Islands, Phillip Muller, signed a communique at the UN headquarters.

The governments of the two countries will promote cooperation in political, scientific, economic, social, humanitarian and cultural fields based on the principles of the UN Charter.

Marshall Islands is located in the Pacific Ocean. It has a population of 62,000 people.
