Abu Dhabi, Aug 31 (IANS/WAM) The annual photography competition ‘Abu Dhabi Through Your Eyes’ that carries a first prize of 30,000 dirhams ($8,000) will start receiving entries from across the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from Wednesday.
The competition invites residents of the UAE to send photographs that they believe reflect the essence of Abu Dhabi. The entries are accepted Sep 1-Dec 31.
Entrants will be able to send their entries through the website of the Office of the Brand of Abu Dhabi (OBAD). The OBAD has also doubled the number of drop boxes to forty that will be placed in prominent locations around the UAE. Participants can also get information from the government call centres.
‘Everyone who lives in the Emirate is an ambassador of Abu Dhabi and we believe that citizens and residents can help bring the brand to life through their creative participation’, said Reem Yousef Al Shemari, General Manager OBAD.
Ten finalists will be selected by a judging panel which will choose the winning images based on subject relevance, technique, quality and composition.
The first prize winner will get AED 30,000. Second prize carries AED 25,000. Third winner will get AED 20,000 while fourth and fifth winners will get AED 15,000 and and AED 12,000 respectively. Five semi-finalists will receive AED 10,000 each.
