Abu Dhabi, Jan 4 (IANS/WAM) The United Arab Emirates (UAE) interior ministry has organised the its fifth mass wedding, this time of 47 employees from all over the country.
Held under the patronage of Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, deputy prime minister and interior minister, the wedding ceremony was organised by the public relations department of the ministry in cooperation with the marriage fund.
Saif Abdullah Al Shafar, undersecretary of the interior ministry, said mass weddings have proven that they are an ideal way to cope with excessive expenses on marriages and dowries, in addition to rationalisation of expenditure, so as to establish a stable family.
