Abu Dhabi, July 28 (IANS/WAM) A hijacked oil tanker of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been freed by Somali pirates off the coast of Yemen, officials said.
The MV Jubba XX with 17 people on board – including sailors from India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh – was released by pirates Wednesday without paying any ransom.
The vessel was seized July 16 while carrying 3,500 tonnes of oil products from the Umm Al Qaiwain port.
It is owned by Sharjah-based Jubba General Trading Co.
Other sailors in the vessel were from Sudan, Myanmar, Kenya and Somalia.
