Islamabad, May 3 (IANS) The US embassy and consulates in Pakistan have been closed for public dealing following the killing of Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden by US security forces.

Osama bin Laden was shot dead by US commandos in Abbottabad city early Monday. His body was then buried at sea.

Dawn reported that the US embassy and consulates in Pakistan were closed for public dealing for an indefinite period.

‘The embassy has been closed for normal working related to dealings with the public,’ Alberto Rodriguez, a spokesperson for the embassy, was quoted as saying.

He said it had not yet been decided as to when the embassy and the consulates would be reopened.
