Dhaka, April 3 (IANS) A judge in Bangladesh refused to have his economy class seat in a Biman flight upgraded to a business class seat, saying the airline should not lose money from this service.
Bazlur Rahman, a high court judge, was flying to Singapore by Biman Bangladesh Airlines Tuesday. The crew offered him a business class seat, but the judge turned it down.
He told them that the government had arranged an economy class seat for him and that he was happy with it. Biman as a corporation should not lose money because of this extra service, the Daily Star reported.
The aircraft left only after the captain received confirmation from the ground staff
handling VIP passengers had offered him an upgraded seat which he refused.
This is in sharp contrast to an incident in October last year when a Biman flight to Singapore was delayed by about 30 minutes because of a row over upgrading an economy class seat of another judge.
