Lahore, April 13 (IANS) Known for its textiles, semi-precious stones, handicrafts and colourful tie and dye work, Rajasthan’s glorious heritage was fully visible in Karma Pink’s show on the third day of the PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2014 with the ramp dominated by clothing inspired by its vibrant culture and traditions.

Titled “Karma ki Rajasthani Kahani” , Karma Pink’s spring-summer 2014 collection derived its inspiration from the soul, spirit and sensuality of Rajasthan.
Fashioned by the internationally acclaimed design team at Karma led by director Maheen Kardar Ali, this award winning pret-a-porter label showcased designs of vibrant colours juxtaposed with contemporary silhouettes that captured the essence of the luxuriant Rajasthani style.
The motifs and surface texturisation were termed the highlights of the entire range with jewel chunri, signature screen prints, old world gota, embroidered phulkari and glittery sequins embellished by mirrors forming peacocks, parrots and elephants – the signature traits of Rajasthani culture.
“With this collection, Karma Pink celebrates a return to one’s roots with ethnic glamour and trademark collectable separates with the aim of encouraging women to embrace the desi drama queen in them,” said Ali.
Launched in June 2005, the label once again presented designs that are not only wearable and comfortable but also bring out your true femininity.
