Islamabad, Sep 13 (IANS) Two women Pakistani lawmakers nearly came to blows in Pakistan’s Punjab assembly, but were separated before the situation turned ugly.
The opposition raised the kidnapping of Shahbaz Taseer, son of slain governor Salman Taseer, and then staged a token walk out.
Before that, during the hullabaloo in the assembly, Pakistan Peoples Party’s Sajida Mir and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s Ghazala Raza Rana were about to ‘engage in free style wrestling’, The Nation reported.
The situation was controlled by some legislators who pushed the squabbling women back to their seats.
Shahbaz Taseer was abducted from Lahore’s Gulberg area Aug 26. He was travelling with his friend when four armed men abducted them at gunpoint.
His friend, who was later released, informed police about the kidnapping.
Taseer is still untraced.
