Stockholm, Aug 31 (DPA) Controversial Wikileaks founder Julian Assange is seeking residency in Sweden despite an ongoing investigation into a complaint of harassment, his lawyer said Tuesday.

A spokeswoman for the Swedish Migration Board told local media that Assange’s application was incomplete and some additional information was needed.

The residency and a work permit application was filed Aug 18, three days before he was fingered by prosecutors.

Earlier this month, prosecutors dropped a probe into sexual harassment and also said they would not pursue allegations by a second woman of rape by Assange.

The decisions have been questioned by attorney Claes Borgstrom who represents the two women who made the allegations. A decision on Borgstrom’s appeal is pending.

Assange was late Monday questioned by police over the harassment, his lawyer Leif Silbersky told the Aftonbladet tabloid.

His visit to Sweden was part of the publication of leaked Pentagon papers relating to the Afghan conflict.

WikiLeaks shot to prominence in July, after the internet site, which campaigns for freedom of information, published thousands of classified US documents relating to the conduct of the war in Afghanistan.
