Los Angeles, Dec 26 (IANS) Filmmaker Spike Lee says he won’t watch director Quentin Tarantino’s next film “Django Unchained” as it is disrespectful to his ancestors.

“Django Unchained” is a western film based on how a South American slave and bounty hunter travel together to kill their enemy. But the Lee says it has offended him.
“I can’t speak on it because I am not going to see it … All I am going to say is that it’s disrespectful to my ancestors. That’s just me … I’m not speaking on behalf of anybody else,” Vibe magazine quoted Lee as saying.
Later, the filmmaker wrote on Twitter: “American slavery was not a Sergio Leone spaghetti western. It was a holocaust. My ancestors are slaves. Stolen from Africa. I will honour them.”
The movie stars Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio and Christoph Waltz.
