Islamabad, April 28 (Inditop) The government of North West Frontier Province (NWFP) in Pakistan Tuesday invited Tehrik-e-Nifaz-e-Shariat Muhammadi (TNSM) chief Maulana Sufi Muhammad for peace talks and said that strict action would be taken if the group violates the peace agreement signed with the government, GEO TV reported.

Sufi Mohammed’s TNSM and the NWFP government inked a controversial peace deal Feb 16 under which Sharia laws would be imposed in the Malakand division in the province in return for the Taliban laying down their arms.

Addressing a press conference in Peshawar, NWFP Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain said the government would not tolerate anyone who takes up arms after the promulgation of Nizam-e-Adl Regulation in Malakand division.

He termed the situation in Buner ‘disappointing’ after the promulgation of Nizam-e-Adl Regulation. Mian Iftikhar said some elements were trying to sabotage the regulation but the government would implement it to restore peace in the area.

The minister added that the government would ensure that terrorists were dealt with full force.
