Astana, May 13 (Inditop.com/WAM) Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will form a committee to explore ways to boost bilateral cooperation, mainly in the energy sector.
The decision was taken at a joint committee meeting of the two countries in Astana Wednesday.
The meeting was held under the joint chairmanship of UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Mohammed Gargash and Kazakh Minister of Tourism and Sports Temirkhan Dosmukhanbetov.
Trade between the two countries was worth $1.5 billion in 2008.
At the meeting, Gargash highlighted the strong ties between UAE and Kazakhstan. The two sides also reviewed the legal framework for cooperation in investment and consular services.
