Mumbai, May 17 (Inditop.com) A benchmark index for Indian equities Monday fell 350 points within the first 30 minutes after the opening bell, amid depressed global cues.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 16,961.92 points, was ruling at 16,643.62 points, 350.98 points or 2.07 percent down from its previous close at 16,994.6 points.
At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broader 50-share S&P CNX Nifty was ruling at 4,995.9 points, down 1.92 percent from its previous close.
Broader markets also came under selling pressure with the BSE midcap index ruling 1.5 percent lower and the BSE smallcap index 1.69 percent down.
