Chennai, May 27 (IANS) The AIADMK Thursday sought a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the bogus drugs case.
The fake and time barred medicine cases have wider ramifications and these need to be probed by the CBI and not by the state police force, said a resolution passed by the party’s executive council in its meeting here.
A total of 18 resolutions were passed. Apart from the demand for a CBI probe, others included those praising the party’s chief J.Jayalalithaa, demand for the removal of Communications and Information Technology Minister A.Raja from the union cabinet, cancelling the reduction in fertiliser subsidy, and a hike in sugarcane, milk, paddy and coconut procurement rates.
The council also condemned the DMK government in the state on the issues of power cuts, worsening law and order situation, conduct of the World Classical Tamil Conference, forgoing the state’s interests in the case of inter-state river water sharing and other such issues.
