London, May 28 (IANS) British comedian Russell Brand says he should get an Oscar for his performance in ‘Get Him to the Greek’.
‘I’m hoping to get an Oscar for this. I don’t want to jinx it, but there’s a real Oscar buzz around the film. A lot of people have been talking about Oscars. They’re saying that I might get one. Hopefully, I’ll get an Oscar and if I don’t get it, I might not make films anymore,’ contactmusic.com quoted Brand as saying.
Brand, who stars in the movie with Jonah Hill and P. Diddy, thinks the Academy Awards should have a category for hard work.
‘I think effort should be rewarded at the Oscars, because how are we supposed to say to kids it’s the trying that counts, if then I don’t get an Oscar it’s going to disappoint a lot of kids… If I don’t get one, I’ll say, ‘Hold on, I’m trying my hardest, so how about an Oscar? It’s only a little thing, make me an extra one. A new category – try that,’ he said.
