Colombo, June 5(IANS) Bollywood’s boy-next-door Sharman Joshi will support Brazil – his favourite football team – during the upcoming World Cup in South Africa.
‘I’m not much of a football fan, but whenever I watch the game it’s always been Brazil for me, so this time at the World Cup too, I’ll support Brazil,’ Sharman told IANS.
‘I’ve not watched the football World Cups for a long time now. I used to watch the game in Maradona’s days, but post that I’ve not really been following the game,’ he added.
However, it was not football but cricket that kept the 31-year-old busy here Friday. The actor played in the charity match that was organized as part of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) weekend to raise funds for the rehabilitation of child soldiers in Sri Lanka.
Sharman was in the team captained by Suniel Shetty that included Sonu Sood, Mahesh Manjrekar, Apoorva Lakhia and Harman Baweja, among others.
When asked whether he is a cricket fan, the actor responded: ‘I like cricket a lot. Of late I’ve not been able to sit and watch full matches, but I have represented my colleges and played quite a bit of cricket in my younger days.’
On the professional front, the actor, who has done films like ‘Godmother’, ‘Rang De Basanti’, ‘Golmaal’, ‘Life In A… Metro’ and ‘3 Idiots’, among others, is at the moment busy reading scripts along with endorsing various products.
‘I have not signed any film post ‘3 Idiots’. I’m reading scripts and will hopefully sign a few soon,’ revealed Sharman.
