New Delhi, June 6 (IANS) Delhi recorded a sharp drop in temperature Sunday, a day after traces of rain accompanied by a cool breeze lifted away the dust haze blanketing the capital’s skies.

Residents of the capital got some respite from the scorching heat as the minimum temperature settled at 25.4 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal for this time of the season. On Saturday, it was recorded at 28 degrees.

The met department attributed the change in weather to rain in some parts of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

‘Skies will be partly cloudy with possibility of dust or thunderstorm, rain and squall later during the day. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 38 degrees Celsius,’ said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

At 34.7 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature Thursday soared to its highest in over 40 years.
