Montevideo, June 7 (IANS/EFE) Uruguayan drug enforcement officials have captured a Brazilian drug trafficker wanted by the Interpol, officials said.

Jose Paulo Vieira de Mello was arrested Saturday in Carrasco, on the outskirts of Montevideo, where he had been living under a false identity for two years, police told EFE Sunday.

He headed a drug gang with links in Bolivia, Paraguay and Brazil. The Interpol had issued an arrest warrant for Vieira de Mello.
