Kolkata, June 14 (IANS) Movement of passenger trains during the night on the Kharagpur-Rourkela and Kharagpur-Adra sections of South Eastern Railway (SER) would remain suspended till June 18 due to security reasons following the May 28 Gyaneshwari Express disaster.

Passenger train services in these two sections would remain suspended between 10.00 p.m. and 5.00 a.m., SER sources said.

Night operations of passenger trains have been suspended in these two sections since the May 28 Gyaneshwari Express tragedy, in which 148 passengers were killed.

Several mail and express trains to and from west and central India have been rescheduled, a source said.

Three trains – 315/316 Howrah-Adra Chakradharpur Passenger, 315A/316A Howrah-Adra-Bokaro Passenger and 353/354 Kharagpur-Tata Passenger – would remain cancelled till June 18, the source said.
