New Delhi, June 18 (IANS) It was yet another hot and humid day in Delhi Friday with the maximum temperature touching the 42 degrees Celsius-mark, a weather official said. Dashing any hope of respite, the mercury is expected to rise further in the weekend.

While the maximum temperature was two degrees above normal at this point of the season, the minimum dipped a notch to settle at 28.4 degrees Celsius, an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

‘The maximum temperature is expected to cross 42 degrees during the weekend,’ he said.

According to the official, the humidity level in the city oscillated between a maximum of 64 percent and a low of 21 percent.

The weather office predicted mainly clear sky Saturday, with the maximum temperature around 43 degrees Celsius and the minimum to settle at 27 degrees Celsius.

No rains are expected though the humidity level has gone down.

‘The sky will remain clear for a couple of days more,’ the official added.
