Los Angeles, June 24 (IANS) A shirt signed by British soccer ace David Beckham to raise funds for a children’s charity in England was stolen earlier this month. It was expected to raise more than $900 for terminally ill children.
The shirt was exhibited in a frame in a shop in St. Albans, England and was set to go under the hammer for the local children’s hospice Keech Cottage, reports imdb.com.
Police have launched an investigation into the theft.
‘Whoever did this is the lowest of the low. The highest bid was 600 pounds (about $900), which is what would have gone to the hospice. I would like to appeal for the guilty party or anyone with information to come forward,’ said local councillor Gordon Myland.
