New Delhi, June 25 (IANS) Model-turned-choreographer Reema Sarin has launched fitness dancing classes in the capital with Bollywood, jazz and funk dance styles.
The fitness dance programme ‘Bollyfit’ is open for all at the American Embassy School.
Along with international dance aerobics, step dance aerobics and cardio kick-boxing on Bollywood remix songs at the speed of 140 beats per minute (bpms) will be taught.
‘My classes are fun, high energy and fast paced. The American School kids have really taken to the fitness dance moves and have picked them extremely well,’ Sarin said in a statement.
‘For these classes, I have used songs like ‘Bachna Ae Hasino’, ‘Aa Dekhen Zaraa’, ‘Twist’ and ‘Ahun Ahun’. I have taught them some of my latest music video choreography with some signature Bollyfit steps,’ she added.
The fitness dance helps in burning calories and also in de-stressing an individual.
‘Dance Aerobics has certainly come a long way from the typical American aerobic music to Bollywood remixes and other popular kinds of music,’ Sarin said.
One of the students at the American Embassy School said: ‘Bollyfit is a completely new style of dancing and it is great because it gives us a workout as well. We just love the fast pace and catchy Bollywood numbers that are used.’
The classes are also being held in Hyderabad.
