New Delhi, June 25 (IANS) The Delhi High Court Friday appointed an observer to conduct the Indian Medical Association (IMA) elections.
The court also asked the IMA to restore the name of its former president K.K. Agarwal, which was removed from the list of central council members making him ineligible from contesting this year’s elections.
Hearing Agarwal’s petition against deletion of his name, Justice M.C.Garg appointed Justice S.K. Aggarwal, a retired high court judge, as observer to conduct the election as per the rules of the IMA. The election process would start from July 1.
Aggarwal, who has been associated with the IMA for more than a decade, also sought a direction declaring the existing electoral list as null and void.
