London, July 2 (DPA) Tomas Berdych overpowered Novak Djokovic 6-3, 7-6 (11-9), 6-3 Friday to book a place in the Wimbledon final against either Rafael Nadal or Andy Murray.
Czech Berdych, who made a breakthrough a month ago at the French Open with his first Grand Slam semi-final, followed up on his quarter-final upset over six-time champion Roger Federer as he put out the 2008 Australian Open champion Djokovic.
Djokovic wasted two set points in the dramatic second-set tie-break but then double faulted to hand the set to Berdych. The Czech got the decisive break for 5-3 in the third en route to victory.
