New Delhi, July 16 (IANS) Couturier Tarun Tahiliani has clarified that his extravagant bridal couture exposition is very much on and the only change now is that venue won’t be an open air affair, but will take place inside the mall.

Tahilian’s bridal exposition will take place July 22-25 at the DLF Emporio mall in Vasant Kunj. The earlier plan was to hold the exhibition in the grounds adjacent to the mall, but it has now shifted inside due to security reasons.

‘We had permission to hold the exhibition outside the mall in the open space but at the very last moment, police authorities interrupted saying due to security reasons for everyone ahead of Commonwealth Games in the city, they are not giving permission for outside venues,’ Tarun told IANS.

‘As we got to know this at the last moment, we have decided to take exhibition inside the mall with a lot of theatrical experience. So the only change is that we have shifted from an open air space to inside the mall.’

There was a report saying that the designer has approached Fashion Design Council of India’s president Sunil Sethi to consider taking him back in the Delhi Couture Week that is taking place July 20-25 in the Grand hotel Vasant Kunj, as construction work for the event had been on hold since Monday.

An angry Tarun dismissed the reports as ‘unethical’ and ‘rubbish’.

‘We are on with the event and all the reports that you are reading is complete rubbish. I don’t understand why people report such things, it is completely unethical,’ he said.
