New Delhi, July 18 (IANS) With the rains eluding Delhi for another day, hot and humid weather spoiled a Sunday outing for many. Weather officials however forecast some rainfall on Monday.

‘We had to stay at home for the whole day as the weather was too muggy to go anywhere,’ said Shweta Arya, who works with ICICI Infra.

According to the India Meteorological Department, both maximum and minimum temperatures remained two notches above average. The maximum temperature was 37.3 degree Celsius while the minimum was 29.2 degree Cesius.

Humidity remained high ranging from 58 to 89 percent.

Only traces of rainfall were recorded in few parts of the capital.

Monday could be better.

‘The sky will be cloudy and one or two spells or rains are expected on Monday,’ an IMD official said.

The temperature is expected to remain on the higher side with IMD forecasting it to remain between 28 degree and 36 degree Celsius.
