Thiruvananthapuram, July 20 (IANS) Senior opposition legislator Joseph M. Puthuserry Tuesday submitted a breach of privilege notice to Kerala assembly speaker K. Radhakrishnan over the ‘contradictory’ statements made by Revenue Minister K.P. Rajendran on the floor of the house.

The Kerala Congress (M) member, in his letter to the speaker, said that in reply to a query during Question Hour Friday, Rajendran said Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan had placed a board on the property of Tata Tea Limited in Munnar in July 2007 which read that the place belonged to the government.

Achuthanandan had embarked on a drive to confiscate government land held by private parties in Munnar, the picturesque hill station in Idukki district.

Puthuserry said in his letter that Rajendran told the house July 4, 2007 that the chief minister had placed the board on government land.

‘On the same issue, Rajendran has made contradictory statements and hence I have given a breach of privilege notice to the speaker and he has accepted it,’ Puthuserry told IANS.
