Toronto, Aug 9 (IANS) India’s Somdev Devvarman failed to enter the $2,430,000 Toronto Masters tennis singles main draw after he went down fighting 6-4, 3-6, 6-7(10) to third-seeded Uzbek Denis Istomin in the second and final qualifying round.
However, there are three Indians in the fray for the doubles event.
Leander Paes and Czech Lukas Dlouhy have been seeded third in the event while Mahesh Bhupathi and Max Mirnyi of Belarus are seeded fourth. Both the pairs have been given a bye in the first round.
Rohan Bopanna is partnering American Eric Butorac and they face Czech Frantisek Cermak and Slovak Michal Mertinak in the first round.
