Shimla, Aug 13 (IANS) What is the real story behind the name Scandal Point? Do you know that Edwina Mountbatten and Jawaharlal Nehru shared a special relationship which flourished in Shimla? Read all this and a lot more in the newly-released book ‘Love Stories of Shimla Hills’.

Authored by Shimla-based writer Minakshi Chaudhry, the book was released by Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal here Friday. It contains 16 love stories that continue to echo in the ‘Queen of Hills’, once the summer capital of the British.

The book narrates the real scandal behind the name Scandal Point (a popular landmark of Shimla). It talks about the real scandal that happened in the Oak Over (heritage building now housing residence of the chief minister).

It also peeps into Edwina and Jawaharlal Nehru’s love story. According to the book, their special relationship developed and matured in Shimla.

‘Love in Shimla’ is the real love story of filmstar Sadhna, who fell in love with a film director in Shimla.

‘The book has these and many more real tales of love, including the first internet marriage of Shimla and a love story of a ghost,’ Chaudhry, 41, told IANS.

Chaudhry is the author of nine books which include the bestseller ‘Ghost Stories of Shimla Hills’.

The 151-page book is published by Rupa & Company and is priced at Rs.195.
