Abu Dhabi, Aug 14 (IANS/WAM) UAE has expressed concern Saturday over the release in Germany of a suspected agent of the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad wanted in the killing of a Hamas leader in Dubai.
Uri Brodsky was held for fraudulent use of a German passport.
Abdurahim Al Awadhi, assistant minister for legal affairs at the UAE foreign ministry, expressed concern that Brodsky has been granted bail and allowed to return to Israel.
‘The UAE seeks assurances that Brodsky is in no way connected with the murder of (Hamas leader) Mahmoud Al Mabhouh in January in Dubai,’ he said in a statement.
He said as Brodsky’s case may relate to a serious crime committed in Dubai, UAE expects full cooperation from Germany and will continue to pursue the matter through diplomatic channels.
