Mason (US), Aug 17 (IANS) India’s Somdev Devvarman fought hard but failed to overcome World No. 114 Robby Ginepri in the first round of the $2,430,000 Western and Southern Financial Group Masters tennis.
The 103-ranked Somdev, who entered the main draw as a qualifier, lost 7-6 (4), 6-7 (4), 2-6 in two hours and 34 minutes here Monday.
Ginepri next plays world No. 6 Nikolay Davydenko.
