New Delhi, Sep 1 (IANS) Delhi witnessed heavy downpour Wednesday after nearly five days of hot and humid weather, bringing much-needed relief to the residents. The weatherman has forecast more rains till Thursday.
Heavy rains lashed many areas of north, central and south Delhi Wednesday afternoon. The city received a total of 4 mm of rain.
The maximum temperature in the city hovered around 35 degrees Celsius, a notch above normal for this time of the season, while the minimum temperature settled three notches above average at 27.7 degrees Celsius.
The weathermen said almost the same temperature would pevail Thursday.
The humidity levels remained between a high of 92 percent and a low of 65 percent.
The city received 455.1 mm of rain in the month of August alone — almost 101 percent above the average — making it the wettest month in the past 10 years.
The capital has so far received 702.6 mm of rainfall, nearly 36 percent above the average.
