Ambala (Haryana), Sep 1 (IANS) The Haryana government Wednesday ordered an inquiry into the theft of precious metal items, idols and marble tombstones from a decades old cemetery in the cantonment area of Ambala city.
The district administration has directed executive officer of Ambala Municipal Corporation Kehar Singh Kadian to submit a report on the matter.
Ambala Deputy Commissioner Samir Pal Saro said: ‘This is one of the oldest cemeteries in the country and the theft of precious items at this place is a matter of concern. We are looking into the matter and stern action will be taken against the accused.’
