Chennai, Sep 1 (IANS) Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) virtually booked a semifinal spot from their three-team group with a six-wicket win over Tata Sports Club in the Airtel-Raj Singh Dungarpur Trophy corporate cricket tournament here Wednesday.
IOC had little difficulty in overhauling the Tata score of 280 for three in 50 overs that was built around an unbeaten 110 (130b, 2×6,4×4) by Ishant Jaggi and his 187-run stand with Mandeep Singh (91, 2×6, 6×4).
In response, IOC were provided a good start through openers Ajinkya Rahane 105 (117b, 9×4) and Wasim Jaffer (48) who put on 94 runs. Later, Rahane and Ravikant Shukla (84) added 128 runs for the second wicket before Chetashwar Pujara hit a rapid 29-ball 32 not out to ensure victory.
