Brasilia/Buenos Aires, May 8 (Inditop) Brazil and Argentina have joined the growing list of countries that have confirmed infections of swine flu within their borders.

Brazil reported four cases as Health Minister Jose Gomes Temporao declared: “The virus has arrived in Brazil.” The four patients were doing well, he said Thursday.

The four adult patients were all Brazilians, three of whom had recently been in Mexico and the fourth in the US. There was no sign of infection among people with whom the patients had contact, Temporao said.

In Argentina, the new A(H1N1) virus was confirmed in a man who returned April 25 from holidays in Mexico. He has been treated and allowed to return to his home, Argentine Health Minister Graciela Ocana said Thursday.

There have been no positive tests among people who had contact with the Argentine patient.
