New Delhi, May 9 (Inditop) The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) Saturday said that in the post-poll scenario, it would support any party that promises a separate state of Telangana in Andhra Pradesh, but hinted it could go with the BJP-led NDA, which has spoken in favour of smaller states.
TRS leader B. Vinod Kumar told reporters: “Our main agenda is Telangana?”, adding: “We will support any party that promises a separate state.”
Hinting at a post-poll alliance with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), he said: “We may back NDA but we will see the results first.”
The TRS is part of the Third Front along with the Telugu Desam Party. The Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) has already promised that it would carve out a separate Telangana within 100 days if voted to power at the centre. It has also tacitly backed the separate Gorkhaland state demand in West Bengal.
