New Delhi, Sep 20 (IANS) They came here for a taste of India and to shoot its myriad attractions for a TV channel in Taiwan. But an unexpected shooting incident has torpedoed plans of two Taiwanese journalists barely a day after they landed here.
‘They were here to shoot for a travel show. It was to be called Super Taste, and was to be shown on TVBS channel,’ Joy Yen, a diplomat in the Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre, told IANS here Monday.
TVBS is a popular satellite television and cable TV network in Taiwan which operates four channels.
‘They arrived here Saturday and were to spend more than a week in India. But now they have no choice but to scrap the plan,’ said Joy Yen.
Two gunmen Sunday sprayed bullets at tourists alighting from a bus at the gate of the historic 17th century Jama Masjid, leaving two Taiwanese injured and triggering a scare in the city.
Ko Chang and Ku Ze Wei, both in their 20s, were said to be stable after being shot in the head and stomach Sunday morning.
Joy Yen said that one of them has been discharged and another one may take seven to 10 days to recover.
