London, Sep 21 (IANS) A weather presenter in Britain was tongue-tied as she twice stumbled over the word ‘arboretum’ before finally giving up.
Lucy Verasamy had the embarrassing moment on Daybreak, ITV’s new breakfast show, Daily Express reported Tuesday.
She was unable to pronounce the word arboretum and could only manage ‘arbrum’ and ‘arbotoreum’ before giving up. She had it spelt phonetically on paper.
Arboretum is a plot of land on which many different trees or shrubs are grown for study or display.
An employee at Surrey’s Winkworth Arboretum from where Lucy gave the forecast said: ‘Her face was as red as our autumn trees which are turning colour early. It was very funny.’
