Agra, Sep 24 (IANS) The Yamuna continued to rise menacingly here Friday but the Taj Mahal, built on the river bank, faces no threat, a senior official said.
Archaeological Survey of India’s (ASI) Indudhar Dwivedi said the 17th century marble monument was ‘safe and sound’.
His comments followed concerns raised about its safety by tourists who throng the Taj in thousands daily. The Yamuna is flowing above the 495-foot danger mark.
