London, May 10 (Inditop) Troubled British singer Amy Winehouse’s long-awaited first stage event was abandoned due to heavy rainfall in St. Lucia.
Winehouse’s comeback performance at the Caribbean island’s jazz festival was rained off halfway through when the stage wings became flooded, reports contactmusic.com.
A spokesperson for Winehouse said the 25-year-old was “disappointed” at the turn of events.
“Amy and the band tried to soldier on but the set had to be cut short. Amy is very disappointed as St. Lucia has been wonderful to her and its people have welcomed her with open arms, but circumstances beyond anyone’s control meant that this special show did not go as planned,” he said.
Winehouse previously said it was an “honour” to be performing in St. Lucia.
