Chandigarh, Sep 28 (IANS) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has ordered the suspension of seven officers and charge-sheeted six others for dereliction of duty during the recent floods and heavy rainfall in parts of the state, a spokesman said here Tuesday.

These officials belong to the public works (buildings and roads) department, public health engineering and irrigation departments.

Executive Engineer R.L. Batra and four other officers of the irrigation department in Kurukshetra have been suspended for not performing their duties properly, leading to flooding in the district and causing loss worth millions of rupees to public property.

Two senior officers of PWD have been suspended while three officials of public health engineering department have been charge-sheeted.
