New Delhi, Sep 29 (IANS) Around 1,150 athletes and officials, including 58 from Pakistan, will arrive at the Commonwealth Games Village Wednesday.
With 146 members, the Australian contingent will be the largest. It will include participants in table tennis, athletics, swimming, tennis and badminton.
England’s contingent will be the second largest with 97 athletes followed by Singapore (75).
Pakistan’s squad of 58 will have participants for hockey, squash, tennis, weightlifting, wrestling and boxing.
Among the other large contingents expected Wednesday are Barbados (57), New Zealand (49), the Maldives (43), Scotland (42), Seychelles (37) and Zambia (28).
Officials and athletes from Gibraltar, Jamaica, Wales, Jersey, Namibia, Bermuda, Canada, St. Vincent & The Grenadines and Lesotho will also reach the Village.
About 7,000 officials and athletes will stay in the sprawling village during the Oct 3-14 Games.
