New Delhi, Sep 29 (IANS) The Delhi Police have tightened security in view of the Queen’s Baton Relay of the Commonwealth Games set to reach the national capital Thursday.

‘We are fully prepared and security arrangements are in place,’ said Rajan Bhagat, spokesperson of the Delhi Police. Tight security has been enforced on all the routes through which the baton will pass.

The baton would be taken to the organising committee headquarters near Jantar Mantar by car. It would be received by Delhi Lieutenant-Governor Tejendra Khanna and Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit along with senior officials of the organising committee.

The baton will travel to various Commonwealth Games-related sites and historical monuments across Delhi for four days before reaching Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Oct 3 when the Games will begin.
